3. Raised Voice and Aggressive Speech: The Eruption of the Volcano When anger is no longer contained, it erupts like a volcano, spewing words that burn and destroy. The once calm and measured voice sharpens into a blade, cutting deep into the hearts of those who hear it. “A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger” (Proverbs 15:1, KJV). Yet, in the heat of fury, kindness is cast aside, and words become fiery arrows, wounding the spirit in ways no apology can fully heal. Sometimes, anger seeps out like venom, slow, deliberate, and poisonous coiling through conversations with sarcasm, passive aggression, and icy contempt, much like the serpent’s cunning deception in Eden (Genesis 3:1-5). Other times, it bursts forth like thunder, loud and reckless, silencing reason and igniting a storm of conflict. “Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools” (Ecclesiastes 7:9, KJV).
