TOPIC: GOING THE EXTRA MILE

SCRIPTURE: Zechariah 4:6. Proverbs 23:18. 2 Kings 7:3-4

I want to start by saying that this year many people will surely become successful and many will waste away just like that. May you be among those that will become successful in Jesus mighty name.

In Zechariah 4:6 KJV. The Bible said.. Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

Not by might nor by power but by the spirit, this day I came to challenge you to dare that situation in your life, you must challenge every situation around you this year, stop this pitiful lifestyle of yours, year in year out, ego better  ego better kind of lifestyle and when you see others prospering! you become envious of them. How long will you continue to live your life that way.

I came to challenge you to defy those obstacles, defy those protocols set over your life by satanic injunctions, defy that circumstance to break through by the spirit of Adonai! hallelujah.

I am not telling you to work out of your marriage, am not asking you to go into prostitution or ritualism or any social vices that will cause pains to others. That is not what I am telling you here, there is surely an end to every evil in the face of the Earth. According to Proverbs 23:18 KJV. For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off. You must find the means to end that situation this year in your life.

You must come out of every desperate situation, many people exist in hopelessness due to unmerited comfort. May God help us.  The whole nation of Israel was in despair not knowing what to do but certain men sat and asked themselves questions: can we not find a means to change our lives?

In 2 Kings 7:3-4 KJV. The Bible said. And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die? [4] If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.

They took a strong decision with all enthusiasm. (Enthusiasm is a situation where one becomes zealous with certain motivation of expectations and excitement to go the extra mile). 

The four leprous men took a child like decision, knowing that the consequences of their action might favor them, but if not they said, we can't stay here anymore. They decided in a childlike motivation and excitement saying why do we sit here and die. if we go and there is the same problem over there we will die there, they took a bold step like children that is where Zechariah 4 verse 6 comes into full manifestation not by might nor by power but by the spirit.

Instead of begging and complaining about the situation, why not motivate yourself and become inquisitive to do what is not expected of you and take a bold step to do the followings. How: 

1) BECOME EAGER TO ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE. Your enemies uses what you are ignorance of to set limitations over your life. According to Archbishop Duncan William.  he said "the strength of your enemies is the maintenance of your ignorance, as long as you remain ignorance the enemy will continue to take advantage over your life"

2) KILL YOUR FEARS. Our fears open doors for Satan and his agent to carry out their plan and purpose against us, we must kill fear because it is the weapon of the wicked, according to 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

3) FASTING.  Isaiah 58:6 KJV

Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? 

4) BE RESULT ORIENTED PERSON. 

5) DEVELOP THE SPIRIT OF EXCELLENCE. Reading and studying can bring out the excellent spirit in a person. 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
